There's the unoconv tool if you don't want to juggle libreoffice command lines manually.

Here's the filter script I used.

#!/usr/bin/bash
# smudge-docx script

TMPDIR=$(mktemp -d)
trap "rm -rf $TMPDIR" EXIT

cat > $TMPDIR/index.docx
unoconv -f html --output $TMPDIR/index.html \
$TMPDIR/index.docx
pandoc --to=markdown $TMPDIR/index.html
