Some time ago guy named Andreas Boye wrote about switch to asciidoc from the MS Word documents (http://www.andreasboye.com/2013/05/document-like-programm...). If only all companies could follow this way...

Seems like a lot of people have been thinking about this: there’s AsciiDoc as you mentioned, Pandoc with Markdown as in the original article, and I’ve also used ReStructuredText.

Perhaps we need a survey article to compare the pros and cons of each. :)

A good test that I've used: Properly typeset "LaTeX" with its super- and sub-scripts as the text for a a link which is bold.
