    I was never convinced that SystemD is superior technically, as an embedded guy I actually hate it.
In contrast to systemd, upstart has many fundamental problems, as explained here. These problems are acknowledged by the creator of upstart, Scott Remnant. While systemd is not perfect, it is a far better technical solution, learning from the mistakes made by upstart.
