Well, let's fix the GPP:

Matthew stated that naturally, he has not looked at this code, since he is working on functionally-equivalent software, and he better avoid looking at the other code so he could not be made liable in case any portions of his software were sufficiently similar (normally for functional reasons) to the first-mentioned. Abstraction, filtration, comparison, all that.
