The kernel package [tar.xz] includes, among others, a large number of realtime patches and a patch set for the aufs union filesystem. This is absolute nonsense; both of these patch sets are inherited from the Debian linux package, and as sjoerd pointed out the realtime patches are not applied by default.
This rehashing of Phoronix's uninformed speculation is well below the standards I expect from LWN.
