The mainframe architectures that URCU supports fall under the s390 category, in other words, those that are also supported by the Linux kernel. If someone tries to use URCU on a mainframe that does not fall into the s390 category, I will send email to lwn@lwn.net to request an appropriate change.
To your point about "Debian family", https://wiki.debian.org/Derivatives links to https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/69/Debia..., which is entitled "Debian Family Tree", and which includes Ubuntu. This led me to believe that the Debian community considers Ubuntu to be part of their family. I have to say that either way, the Debian family is amazingly large!
