Hi list
* Main *
We are happy to announce that the financial backing of the TSL project
is in place. The legal rights to the further development, marketing and
sales of the products formerly owned by Trustix AS, has been bought by
Comodo Group Ltd. This includes the legal rights to use the name
Trustix Secure Linux.
The TSL team in addition to several other developers from Trustix AS,
been employed by Comodo Group. This means that Tawie Server Linux and
Trustix Secure Linux will be remerged under the old name (Trustix Secure
Linux).
Confused? In plain text things are slowly going back to how they where
before Trustix AS went bankrupt. It also means that we now have more
resources than before, which will enable the TSL team to focus more on
TSL development than we have been able to before.
* Cross Upgrade *
The cross upgrade from tawie to trustix is documented on our web pages:
<URL: http://www.trustix.org/crossupgrade/>
* GPG keys *
We have released new gpg keys, which are found here:
<URL: http://www.trustix.org/gpgkeys/>
* New download area directory structure *
We have done some changes to the download area of the distribution servers
({http,ftp,rsync}.trustix.org):
/pub/trustix = Current tree with all features, including updates
/pub/tawie = Stripped down tree with the tawie TSL releases
/pub/Trustix = Stripped down tree with the old TSL releases
(Notice the difference between 'Trustix' and 'trustix')
Today only TSL-2.0 and updates have been placed in the new tree, but
both TSL-1.2 and TSL-1.5 will be placed there when we are done with the
testing part.
We will provide installation media for TSL 1.5 aswell as TSL 2.0 when
it's in place in the new download area.
About one week after all the merged releases have been placed in the new
directory, we will release updated versions of swup and swupconf to ease
the cross-upgrading for the ones that doesn't pay attention to this
announcement.
About one week after that, we will replace the 'pub/Trustix' directory
with a symbolic link pointing to 'pub/trustix/'. We will also be
removing the 'pub/tawie' directory at the same time.
This is the interesting parts of the new directory structure:
Current releases:
pub/trustix/releases/trustix-2.0/iso
pub/trustix/releases/trustix-2.0/srpms
pub/trustix/releases/trustix-2.0/i586/images
pub/trustix/releases/trustix-2.0/i586/trustix/rpms
Updates:
pub/trustix/updates/2.0/{rpms,srpms}
pub/trustix/updates/1.5/{rpms,srpms}
pub/trustix/updates/1.2/{rpms,srpms}
Tawie releases (obsolete):
pub/tawie/releases/tawie-2.0/i586/tawie/rpms
pub/tawie/releases/tawie-2.0/srpms
pub/tawie/releases/tawie-1.5/i586/Trustix/RPMS
pub/tawie/releases/tawie-1.5/SRPMS
pub/tawie/releases/tawie-1.2/i586/Trustix/RPMS
pub/tawie/releases/tawie-1.2/SRPMS
Pre-Tawie releases (obsolete):
pub/Trustix/releases/trustix-2.0/i586/Trustix/RPMS
pub/Trustix/releases/trustix-2.0/srpms
pub/Trustix/releases/trustix-1.5/i586/Trustix/RPMS
pub/Trustix/releases/trustix-1.5/SRPMS
pub/Trustix/releases/trustix-1.2/i586/Trustix/RPMS
pub/Trustix/releases/trustix-1.2/SRPMS
Kind regards
The TSL team
