These images go along with this article on the block subsystem kobject hierarchy. The first, below, shows the full hierarchy as linked by the various kobject field pointers:

Note that the I/O scheduler entries for hdb have been left out to keep the overall clutter down a bit.

The second view, below, omits the kobject pointers in favor of the corresponding sysfs hierarchy.
