That's a common false pretense that one tool can be used for every job. It just can't, this whole premise is silly. It's as if the real difficulty in upgrading from one Fedora to the next is the "yum update" and not the fact that my ruby 1.8 app no longer runs on ruby 1.9.
It's just about picking the right tool for the job, you wouldn't use a hammer to turn on your TV and Fedora's just not right for every job.
