Not yet practical, but it was a *lot* less practical only a few years ago, and not known to be possible at all before that. It is clearly on the up and up... and, to be honest, this is one of those advances that to me looks like magic technology that has dropped through a wormhole from the 25th century. If it's not useful until then, I won't be particularly surprised. :)
