The VP8 wars heat up ... again

A broken clock is correct once or twice (depending on 24/12 format) a day. That doesn't make it equally desirable to one that actually works. That software patents in particular are more a detriment to software innovation than not seems to be a pretty solid proposition and in direct conflict with the purported rationale for the existence of them.
