I seriously hope you’re not using BIOS calls for that. That’s just… arrgh.
Basically, you put a good enough 32-bit bootloader into front which the 16-bit BIOS can then load. Easy.
(Even so, there *is* LBA48 support in BIOSes new enough. Otherwise, just bang the I/O ports. I think GNU GRUB can probably do that.)
