It is easy to see how that would end up as a long slippery slope to merging in everything from systemd to emacs
... when clearly the existence of the kernel-mode linux project shows that what you should be doing is running emacs in the kernel.

Shouldn't you really just implement the kernel in EMACS LISP and be done with it? ;-)
