Bottomley: Owning your Windows 8 UEFI Platform

Has anybody succeeded in building this on Ubuntu (12.10) or Debian (7.0) X86_64 platforms? After several hours I have concluded this is a complete mess with incompatibilities between the gnu-efi packages available on Ubuntu, Debian and the rpm world (the former don't have uefi_call_wrapper). This is not ready for prime time.
