You are Russian, I suppose?

Otherwise, how hard did you have to dig before you found a site statistic like that?

Site statistic? SITE? I think you don't understand. These are not stats for some website. These are stats for the whole Russian internet. is a company which provides something like Google Analytics - but also publishes aggregate numbers. As for the individual sites... On lot of Russian sites over 50% of visitors still come using Opera! Last year Google's Chrome finally become browser number one in Russia by most measures (by some it's still #2). To do that it needed to beat Opera, not Internet Explorer or Firefox!

This was serious problem for us in Russia for years because most developers don't live in Russia and it was pretty hard to convince them to test their stuff with Opera - but as a result huge amount of users have not even tried our products. It was huge problem for our Russian subsidiary.

No. Opera isn't anything remotely like a iPhone in terms of popularity or widespread usage.

In Russia it is. 20% iPhone users in smartphones match 20% of Opera users in browsers almost exactly. If anything percentage of Opera users is higher.
