Congratulations! Maybe I'll be able to upgrade at last...

I wonder if various arbitrary capability losses (e.g. the ability to name device nodes whatever you want, and to boot without devtmpfs) will be brought back too? I suspect so, because booting without devtmpfs is a requirement of early-kernel support, and naming device nodes whatever you want is easy if you can boot without devtmpfs.

What does "early-kernel" refer to, and why does it not work with devtmpfs?
