The tool to find board files without updates was in fact implemented on the same day hacking session by Magnus Damm.

The ixp4xx platforms are actually seeing occasional updates, but most of the active users seem to be in the openwrt project, which has not contributed back many of its patches for this platform.

ixp4xx gets some updates from Debian, though I don't know how many users we still have. The once-popular NSLU2 has only 32MB RAM and most other models seem to have 64MB, which is a bit small for a standard distribution.

We have one outstanding patch for it, which adds the io{read,write}{16,32}be functions used by some drivers... that will probably never be used on this platform.

It does sound like a useful patch though, since I'm trying to improve the build coverage and make randconfig work. If you send that patch, I'll apply it.
