LPI Forum in Warsaw, Poland

(Sacramento, CA, USA and Kassel, Germany: August 1, 2012) The Linux
Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification

(, will host a forum for Linux
professionals at the Warsaw University of Technology in Warsaw, Poland
on September 28, 2012.  The event is being held under the honorary
patronage of the Polish Ministry of the Economy (Ministerstwo

The forum will feature speakers on a number of technology subjects
including Free and Open Source Software solutions, professional skills
development, IT innovation and entrepreneurship, lifelong learning,
Linux certification and the workforce development of Linux and Open
Source professionals (  Attendance

local businesses and IT organizations," said Jim Lacey, president and 
CEO of LPI.  Mr. Lacey will be speaking at the forum on LPI's growing 
focus on promoting Open Source careers and how strategic partnership 
initiatives and Linux certification can benefit Polish Open Source 
organizations and IT professionals.  Mr. Lacey's presentation will 
follow the opening address by Dariusz Bogdan, Poland's Undersecretary of 
State for the Ministry of Economy.

LPI-Central Europe has been active in Poland since January 2011 and has
held six LPI exam labs to date at locations throughout the country.
LPI exam labs provide an opportunity for IT professionals to take LPI
exams at promotional pricing in order to support local Linux and Open
Source events.  Upcoming LPI exam labs in Poland are also planned for
the city of Szczecin in August and Kielce in October at a Polish Linux
Users Group's event.  An LPI exam lab will also be hosted by LPI partner 
Akademia Linuksa ( a day prior to the forum on 
September 27, 2012.
