1.1. Fresh@LDP

We're starting this 20th issue with a new document:

  * Review this [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Scripting-GUI-TclTk/] Scripting
Graphical Commands with Tcl/Tk Mini-HOWTO if you want to get started with
the Tcl/Tk graphical toolkit. Salvador J. Peralta is waiting for your
    comments!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.2. Proposed new documents

  * On the same lines as the [http://lists.tldp.org/index.cgi?5:mss:5672:
200309:mdeognklflhdfhdhjjcb] Disk Encryption HOWTO proposed by David
Braun last week, Christophe Devine suggest an [http://lists.tldp.org/
    index.cgi?5:mss:5751:200309:ffnhpcndnmhkkkjfhkef] Encrypted file system

2. Updates

2.1. HOWTOs

We're getting in full speed again, be prepared!

  * Saqib Ali provided us with v4.1.0 of his [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/
Apache-WebDAV-LDAP-HOWTO/] Apache based WebDAV Server with LDAP and SSL
HOWTO. If you were wondering: WebDAV stands for Web enabled Distributed
Authoring and Versioning. Saqib's objective is to set up an Apache +
MySQL + PHP + WebDAV based application server, using LDAP for
    authentication.

  * If you feel like playing a bit with your kernel, here's v1.04 of Bryan
    Henderson's [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Module-HOWTO/] Linux Loadable Kernel
    Module HOWTO.

  * We've got a lot of updates from the VideoLAN project. VideoLAN is a
complete software solution for streaming MPEG video on high-bandwidth
networks. The project consists of VLS, the VideoLAN server and VLC, the
client, which can accidentally also serve videos.

The documentation consists of the following:

      + [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/VideoLAN-HOWTO/] The VideoLAN HOWTO

      + [http://tldp.org/REF/VideoLAN-Quickstart/] The VideoLAN Quick-start

+ [http://tldp.org/REF/VLC-User-Guide/] The VLC User Guide

+ [http://tldp.org/REF/VLS-User-Guide/] The VLS User guide

Many thanks to Alexis de Lattre, Marc Ariberti, Anil Daoud, Clement
Stenac, Henri Fallon, Johan Bilien, Mathieu Gautier and all the others
    volunteering for this project!

  * And Svetoslav Slavtchev mailed us v1.1.1 of his [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/
XFree-Local-multi-user-HOWTO/] XFree Local Multi-User HOWTO, which
explains how to use the Backstreet Ruby kernel for supporting multiple
keyboards, mice and monitors on one PC.

  * If you want to try an alternative form of wireless connection, check out
    v1.24 of Miroslav "Misko" Skoric's [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/FBB.html] FBB
Packet-radio BBS mini-HOWTO, covering the installation and use of the
popular amateur packet-radio BBS server software "FBB".

  * v3.13 of Miroslav "Misko" Skoric's [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/LILO.html] LILO
    mini-HOWTO.

  * The [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Linux+WinNT.html] Linux+WindowsNT mini-HOWTO
    v2.13. from Miroslav "Misko" Skoric.

  * Daniel Quintiliani sent in v1.1 of the [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/
Xnews-under-Linux-HOWTO/] Xnews under Linux HOWTO, describing how to set
up and use the Windows client Xnews running [http://www.winehq.com/] Wine
    emulator.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.2. Guides

  * [http://tldp.org/REF/VLC-User-Guide/] The VLC User Guide and the [http://
tldp.org/REF/VLS-User-Guide/] the VLS User guide, see VideoLAN in the
    previous section

  * Binh Nguyen posted v0.11 of the [http://www.tldp.org/LDP/Linux-Dictionary
    /html/] Linux Dictionary.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.3. Various

Over at TLDP-ES, it was decided to have [http://www.lisa.org/tbx/] TBX, an
XML-based open standard for storing terminological data, for the unified
Spanish glossary they're working on.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
