An attitude that says the classic syslog interface is depercated and the native journal interface is preferred.Where in the proposal did you read about deprecating the syslog interface? I see the contrary: the syslog API syslog(3) is supported as first-class interface to write log messages, and continues to be the primary API for all simple text logging.
