You don't seem to understand. Syslog is a critical piece of infrastructure. If Red Hat wants to go with that, fine. They can integrate it in the system. But, please, do not force it as the only solution. Just follow a standards track to mess nicely with the rest of the networking gear.

Plus other Lennart inventions have resulted in lots of headaches for me so I mistrust him completely.
