Public API?

Public API?

Parent article: Web-based feed reading with rsslounge

The only thing I miss from Google Reader is a public API, so that I can write a client for my mobile device (Nokia N9).

Google has been very reluctant on providing such API, they have been promising it for years.

I have tried other alternatives, but nothing both good, and with a public API. rsslounge might do the trick.

I also use the social features of Google Reader, but with Google Buzz, and now Google Plus, all that functionality is redundant.

On my Android phone I've used gReader which syncs up with Google Reader. I would have assumed that was using public ASI's rather than scraping the web page.

Liferea also has google reader sync, but I never looked at the code.

On Android I can higly recommend NewsRob

Been using it for ages, and it's literally my most used app. Highly robust, reliable and performant.

Felippe, there is an API for Google Reader. The problem is the API itself is not fit to the GData. It has something really different on top of auth part.

P.S. For example, I'm using that API to sync my subscriptions from LiveJournal, PicasaWeb, and YouTube to the Google Reader.
