sure.
there are reasons that the administrators on systems don't let everyone on a system do all these things.
but if you want to do those things, don't argue with the administrators, just run your own machine (and if your response is that your company won't let you, then you probably shouldn't be doing it anyway, it's the companies network, not yours)
