Your can't trust it period, ever. If you don't own (control) the client, you are already compromised. An internet cafe can fake the entire browser experience if they want. Identifying the "other end" is a waste of time if you are not using a trusted client (i.e. your device, or a device which you trust).

I should probably have mentioned: computer of a friend instead of internet cafe.

I did mean anywhere else but home or work.
