If they have a publicly available git repository of their kernel source ball, obfuscation is a moot point indeed.

It comes down to what is easier to ship - a ball of C out of a git repository, vs a handmade package manually pieced together from thousand's of patches. They could just be moving to a more saner release model given the technology available.

Let's keep our eyes peeled for this repo, and pressure them to make it available if it can't be found.
