I find it strange to say "clang builds a linux kernel" until it really does... From the report that was made, it doesn't : ICE on some parts, unsupported dialect in some other. Actually, the final result is an hybrid clang/GCC binary.
That's the way to go, but only when you can take a vanilla tarball of a kernel (even in a pre-defined version), set the compiler, and launch 'make menuconfig' ; 'make all', to have a booting kernel, it will be considered done.
