Open Interface and Rococo Software Partner to Provide Java Based APIs for Bluetooth Application Development

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OPEN INTERFACE AND ROCOCO SOFTWARE PARTNER TO PROVIDE JAVA BASED APIs FOR
BLUETOOTH(TM) APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

DUBLIN, IRELAND - June 27, 2002 - Rococo Software and Open Interface North
America, Inc. announced a strategic partnership to develop advanced
Java-based systems for the development of applications using Bluetooth
wireless technology. Rococo Software is a leading supplier of Java-based
development tools and integration services for Bluetooth wireless networking
and Open Interface North America is a leading provider of Bluetooth wireless
technology software and services.

Open Interface North America is working with Rococo Software to integrate
the Open Interface BlueMagic(tm) 3.0 embedded Bluetooth protocol stack into
Rococo's Java-based Impronto Developer Kit and Technology Licensing Kit,
allowing developers using Java to access BlueMagic 3.0 Bluetooth protocol
software.

The BlueMagic protocol stack family is among the most widely used Bluetooth
protocol stacks in the world. The latest member of this family - the
BlueMagic 3.0 embedded Bluetooth protocol stack - was designed from the
beginning to be implemented in embedded Bluetooth applications. The
modularity, scalability, and portability designed into BlueMagic 3.0
software makes the protocol stack resource-efficient and easy to configure.
The Rococo APIs implement the new JSR-82 standard APIs for Bluetooth and
Java, which Rococo helped to define. With these standard Java APIs from
Rococo providing access to the BlueMagic 3.0 protocol stack, developers
familiar with Java can immediately begin to develop applications using
Bluetooth wireless technology without having to become experts in the
Bluetooth protocol specification.

"The business relationship into which we have entered with Rococo is
important for our companies as our customers have expressed interest in the
ability to develop Java-based applications," explained Akemi Sagawa, CEO of
Open Interface North America. "Integrating the BlueMagic 3.0 protocol stack
with Rococo's Java APIs is a natural fit for our companies and provides a
critical set of building blocks for our customers developing Java-based
Bluetooth products."

"In an effort to make the task of developing Bluetooth applications as easy
as possible, Rococo has partnered with Open Interface to push forward in
providing the very best tools to speed products to market cost-effectively,"
said Rococo CEO Sean O'Sullivan. "We quickly recognized the flexibility that
the BlueMagic 3.0 protocol stack offers. Paired with our Impronto
technology, we feel that customers will be able to easily create Bluetooth
applications for any type of mobile device."

Open Interface BlueMagic 2.0 protocol stack was the first Bluetooth protocol
stack to be integrated and shipped in a commercially available product. This
complete, qualified Bluetooth protocol stack and related software
development tools have since remained among the most successful tools for
Bluetooth application developers, having been used extensively by major PC
OEMs. In 2000, Open Interface Inc.'s Bluetooth wireless technology assets
