I would argue that Wind River (no longer pronounced Win Driver) should be recognized on its own merits. Wind River remains largely independent of its owner - necessary because it supports OS and development environments across a wide range of chips, and maintains NDAs with Intel's competitors. (Yes, I am employed by Wind River). I agree Jon's binning is pretty much arbitrary. I find it pretty useful though, and appreciate his attempts to maintain a consistent sort of arbitrary.
