I use the official binary tarball of Firefox under Linux (untarred to my home dir), pretty much the same way one would use the Windows version. It's fully branded, it updates itself automatically, and so on - I have exactly zero problems with it. Compared to the version which I have available in the distro (namely, iceweasel in debian sid), it looks vastly superior.
