It is enabled out of the box.

openSUSE does not include FFmpeg and lists it on

http://en.opensuse.org/Application_black_list

but they appear to ship VLC. At least

http://software.opensuse.org/search

reveals VLC packages hosted on opensuse.org. No idea what those packages contain and how they are configured. If somebody can enlighten us, I'm all ears.
