I think Canonical is one of those companies that usually tries to do the "right thing," but sometimes gives the lawyers too much wiggle room. They also seem to be having a tough time figuring out whether they are an open source company that has some proprietary products, or a proprietary company that happens to sponsor a distribution.

I kind-a share your sentiment. Let's hope it's true and they solve this
issue shortly... A bit publicity, like this article, will certainly help
:D

That's why I really appreciate Corbet's articles on this and similar
issues - and he does it with style :D
