Note, I can read shell and in fact that is how I got firebird running. But there are these things called usability and documentation, and everyone but the djb list flame boys understand that one is entitled to expect a modicum of both by the time you get to a 0.6 release.

Firebird seems ok so far. As with Mozilla 1.4 series, it seems fast but also lacks the antialiased fonts that make 1.3 such a pleasure to use. Some widgets look extra-crappy to me in Firebird.

You're right, but only for the default builds. If you build your own, you can compile in support for xft and gtk2, for extra shininess.
