The kernel gets a new logo
As everybody knows, only important fixes will be merged into the mainline
kernel at this late stage of the development cycle. One of the fixes
merged by Linus on March 17 was a high-resolution SVG image of "Tuz,"
the mascot of the 2009 linux.conf.au conference. Tuz, in his new home at
Documentation/logo.svg, serves to remind the world of the
difficulties faced by the Tasmanian
devil and how the linux.conf.au attendees supported the effort
to save this species from extinction.

One release only?

Am I to understand (based on Rusty's git comment) that Tuz will fill in for Tux for one kernel release only?

The replacing of the logo for one release seems to be a much bigger tribute.
I'm not complaining. I think it's great.
Will it set a precedence for more "guest logos"?

new linux images to Linux Git tree (2.6.29-RC8 git tree),
I received email about this news with gitstat software.
But, It's strange.
He didn't change "logo_linux_mono.pbm" file from old linux image to new image(devils).
(git address is http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-...)
What is reason that he didn't change mono(black/white) image?
Anyone explain me?.. RSVP, Please.
I summarized changed logo images on 2.6.29-rc8 git tree currently.
* logo_linux_clut224.ppm (224 Color) <---- Changed
* logo_linux_mono.pbm (Black/Hite Color) <--- Not Changed
* logo_linux_vga16.ppm ( 16 Color)<---- Changed
