Dear LWN authors,
Well, first of all I'd like to thank you for your writings, which are
awesome, and thus every week. Please, continue. :-)
Speaking of awesome, I'd like to bring your attention to the awesome
project[1], a window manager designed rather as a frame-work than as a
classical flat-configuration-file-driven window manager.
It allows to do almost anything you can expect with a window manager,
and probably more. It even respects and implements many of the
Freedesktop standard, like EWMH, XDG base directory, system tray or
notifications.
We are also the first, and still one of the only, window manager to use
the X C Bindings[2], dropping Xlib usage.
We are a small community, but growing and are about to release the 3.2
version this month. The project is used by many geek, power users and so on,
and have several contributors. Some statistics can be seen at Ohloh[3].
I'd be glad to answer any question you might have, if writing something
about it seems interesting to you.
