the pervasive "it works for us, ship it!" mentalityA (good) hardware engineer of my acquaintance was wont to say ``The question is not `Will it run?', but rather `Can it fail?' ''.
Unfortunately, he had to say it a lot, due to encountering the aforesaid mentality.
