Red Hat, Inc. has announced that General H. Hugh Shelton, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and counsel to the President, has joined Red Hat's board of directors. everyone is waiting to get single sign on to machines instead of this Active directory and NIS
nightmare that we have at the moment

since the DOD seems to have made the right choice i.e. project liberty rather than active
directory I hope redhat will come out with a version and adapt their redhat update service to
work in it

I for one find it very disturbing that a company such as Red Hat would
elect a representant of a military body to its board of directors.

With the current world climate, it isn't the wise thing to do
internationally.

Why so?

General Shelton retired over a year ago. He does not represent the military; he represents shareholders. I can't imagine how it would seem otherwise.
