Susan Linton looks at the Foresight Kid's Edition. "Foresight Kid's Edition captures children's attention immediately with its happy bumblebee character, smiling and waving from the lower corner of the brightly colored desktop. Distractions are kept to a minimum on the panel and desktop, with only a few icons such as Trash and Home showing. The customized Slab menu is also constructed for children, having entries for the applications of interest to youngsters in the Favorite Applications screen (main panel)."

We had a system running Foresight Kid's Edition at Ohio Linux Fest at the Foresight booth. There were a lot of children at the show. (As the father of two daughters, I was pleased to see that the majority were girls.) It seemed that most of the kids there — as well as plenty of adults — tried out the kid's edition and liked it. At least two asked their accompanying parent for it (well, a computer running it) for Christmas.

The question is, who is the Foresight Kid and does his education mission include the correct use of apostrophes? Or is this an edition intended only for one single child?
