It's frustrating that Bryan Cantrell apparently reacts to all mentions of license issues as "I want to talk about technology, not law, legal issues are unimportant". Well, no, they're not. If they were, that'd be great, but as it happens, we have to care about under what terms we use the code that we use, and if the licenses aren't compatible, we can't use it. He goes on and on about how foolish the SystemTap people are for trying to reimplement DTrace when DTrace already exists, while refusing to even discuss the SOLE reason why they saw the need to bother!
