Can anyone recommed me which file system to use when using compact flash as an IDE device. We are now using EXT3 on root partition, but due to journaling and Solid database installed on root, this can shorten life time of the CF. By using white paper from Scan disk (Flash memory cards) I have evaluate the lifetime of an CF with traffic activity on media gateway (5KB/s)to 25 years. But in any other case scenario the results could be worse. Is there solution to achieve better results by using EXT2 on root and moving solid database logs to other partiton and just occassionaly write data to root. Is there any knonw analyse done on this subject?
Thank you for all your comments.
