Yikes! I hope Gwenview doesn't replace Kuickshow. I use Kuickshow precisely because of its features, combined with its speed. I can easily slideshow through my latest shots, rapidly deleting the ones that don't make the grade; view EXIF metadata; rotate, etc. I would not want to go without a folder view or other features.

I do agree with the author, though, that for operations like this, a fast application is desired; I save photo album software for long term management and photo touchup usage patterns.

Gwenview does all the things you mention. Viewing metadata, as far as I can make out, requires a few mouseclicks, but all the other things are a single keystroke.

Isn't most of this what Konqueror should be good for, though? The only
thing it might be missing from that list is the ability to sort by EXIF
metadata (this is only a guess because I've not got a digital camera and
have never actually seen anything incorporating EXIF). Combine that with
decent previewing/thumbnailing (which Konqi already has) and you're home
free.

I have a PTP camera (Canon Powershot A75). When I open the camera in Digikam thumb viewer and click on a single thumb to view it in big window, I can not move to adjacent images by right/left arrow buttons as they are disabled. So I have to close this viewer, return back to Digikam thumbs, and click on another thumb again. It's very inconvenient. Are there any chances for this to be fixed in Digikam itself or in external viewer that Digikam calls ? Is there anything wrong with PTP IOSlave ?
