Lobby4linux is stirring up a lobbying campaign to NVIDIA and ATI
to support FLOSS 3D drivers. Details here:
http://blog.lobby4linux.com/index.php?/archives/2006/12/3...
(in the middle of the long one).
He's trying to get NVIDIA to get many emails on Feb 5 and 12, with ATI receiving many on Feb 6 and
13, to these addresses:

NVIDIA
CEO
Nvidia Corporate office
2701 San Tomas Expressway
Santa Clara, CA 95050

AMD/ATI
One AMD Place
P.O. Box 3453
Sunnyvale, California 94088-3453

Wow, this blog is seriously incoherent and vastly self-important.

I also disagree with the message. I do not at all demand that hardware vendors create Linux drivers for their hardware. I demand that they provide non-discriminatory documentation for their hardware. If they do both, so much the better, but the documentation is far more important.

Yes, that blog rambles incredibly. I do think it's worth lobbying ATI and NVIDIA. But you're right: it'd be much better to get them to release the specs, so that people could then write and MAINTAIN the drivers. But I'd settle for at least having FLOSS drivers.
