Notes from GDM hallway-bof

Brian Cameron and myself spoke extensively about GDM and some cool
ideas. We spoke about the following ideas:

-Further examining the idea of using GDM to replace the splash screen.
Ryan Lortie has been worked on this:

We talked about extending the xml file that describes themes to
include a specific background element, allowing for it to be seperated
and displayed without the above UI elements when waiting for login.

-turning the language and session into drop down list or a combo box

-finishing the accessibility of the greeter (the standard graphical
login screen), which needs magnification support, to allow the removal
of the gdmlogin screen (another login dialog)

-lockdown of GDM via pessulus

Expect some cool things from GDM in the near future.
