This award seems to be oddly-named -- many of the finalists are proprietary software. I'd expect the winner of an Open Source Product Excellence Award to be an "Open Source Product". Although, I must say, it'd be pretty amusing if Microsoft's Services for Unix (nominated under Best System Integration Software) wins.

Ironic or not, Microsoft Services for Unix contains a large amount of Free software. The obvious example is that the Windows portion of the sdk contains gcc and much more of GNU tool chain.
