LinuxWorld Names Finalists for Open Source Product Excellence Awards

Finalists have been announced for the LinuxWorld Open Source Product Excellence awards. The winners will be announced next week at LinuxWorld.

This award seems to be oddly-named -- many of the finalists are proprietary software. I'd expect the winner of an Open Source Product Excellence Award to be an "Open Source Product". Although, I must say, it'd be pretty amusing if Microsoft's Services for Unix (nominated under Best System Integration Software) wins.

Ironic or not, Microsoft Services for Unix contains a large amount of Free software. The obvious example is that the Windows portion of the sdk contains gcc and much more of GNU tool chain.
