I agree that this new feature of GPLv3 is keeping with the spirit of the GPL license (as opposed to the BSD license). Whether it can be implemented cleanly, I don't know, but I think the FSF's basic desire is philosophically reasonable and a boon to users.

Eben Moglen explalined this well in India. The new DRM clause just says that you can't use technology to add restrictions that the licence doesn't allow.
