Open looks at changes in the open-source landscape. "Times have changed. Evidence shows that Red Hat is no longer 'The Open Source company.' We have seen how Open Source as a business is much more than Linux. We have learned that Open Source is a multidimensional thing. Right at this moment, lessons from collaborative development and free distribution are being adopted into mainstream software business models."

From the "Open" article:
Evidence shows that Red Hat is no longer 'The Open Source company.'
WHAT evidence? I've seen no sign that they aren't continuing to GPL all of the code they write for their distribution, including things like their installer, configuration tools, etc. How could a person reasonably ask them to be MORE Open Source?

I think that the emphasis was in *The* and not on *Open Source*.
In other words, it is not saying that Red Hat is not Open Source, it is saying that there are *other* open source companies.

Perhaps the article refers to other Linux distros. Perhaps it refers to other big companies supporting Linux (like IBM).

I presumed that was what they meant, but surely only fairly short sighted people ever thought that?
