On behalf of the Rivendell development team, I'm pleased to announce the
immediate release of Rivendell v0.9.71. Rivendell is a full-featured radio
automation system targeted for use in professional broadcast environments. It
is available under the GNU General Public License. From the NEWS file:

*** snip snip ***
Changes:
Copying Carts from SoundPanel in RDAirPlay. It's now possible to
copy carts from the SoundPanel button in RDAirPlay when touching the
   COPY button.

VoiceTracker Rubberbanding. Audio fadeup/fadedown points and
levels can now be set independently of the segue overlap in the
Voice Tracker dialog by moving the 'rubberbands' in the waveform
   windows.

Bugfixes. See the ChangeLog for details.

Library Versions:
This version requires that, at a minimum, libradio-0.97.2 and
librhpi-0.94.7 be installed. If installing from RPM, the version of
the currently installed libraries can be determined by doing:

      rpm -q libradio
      rpm -q librhpi

Database Update:
As always, be sure to run RDAdmin immediately after
upgrading to allow any necessary changes to the database schema to
   be applied.

Rivendell v0.9.71 announced

Posted Sep 2, 2006 20:10 UTC (Sat) by Baylink (guest, #755) [Link]

I'm not, at the moment, a Radio Tech Guy, though I've done some of that in the past, but I joined the Rivendell mailing lists when I first saw it mentioned here on LWN, about a year or so ago.

My initial reaction -- given my opinion of organized religion -- was that it was nice to see an organization so inclined actually living up to its principles, and giving away a package like this.

Following the mailing list, and interacting with lead developer Fred Gleason, has given me no particular reason to change that opinion. Nice crew; nice software. And Salem is actually running live stations with the code, as are others.

If you wanna be a Radio Guy, give it a look-see.
