KDE 3.5.4 VMware Image Available (KDE.News) Posted Aug 9, 2006 2:06 UTC (Wed) by azhrei_fje (guest, #26148) [Link] Wow, this "virtual appliance" thing that VMware has started has become quite a community. Browsing the directory at their web site shows full Linux installations (the oldest I saw was RH6.2!), as well as pre-configuration applications such as database engines, firewalls and other security products, and so on. But if I'm going to run these things, I'm going to need more than 1GB of RAM, that's for sure! Fortunately, I'm in the market for a new laptop anyway, so I'll shoot for a minimum of 2GB. (Compaq's dual-core Turion TL-50 looks nice.)
