I'm sorry, but this seems like a lot of smoke and mirrors. Everything they
offer is on Sourceforge and Freshmeat. It just seems like these former
Microsoft employees are looking to confuse and direct users towards a
closed source solution that they might have a stake in. Why would I go to
them to help me understand licensing issues? Just my 2 cents.

Indeed. If you want licensing paranoia in particular, the FSF's Free Software Directory looks like the place to go. Plus we *know* they have no ulterior motives :)
