MySQL CEO offers mixed view of Oracle (ZDNet)

They might be crippled, but the capacity of these systems (and the ones from MS and Sybase) is pretty impressive compared to mid end transactional systems of even a few years ago: I think its churlish to complain from a user perspective. But then Mickos has a specific agenda here.

Is it really that Oracle, IBM and Sybase are concerned about mySQL anyway? Or are they more worried about SqlServer Express? Microsoft have had a low-end redistributable SQLServer runtime for some time, but the new edition looks very handy.
