Dear LWN
** Announcing the LSB 1.3 LI18NUX Level 1 testset beta
We have today released a new testset for the Linux Standard Base.
I include the release notes below.

LSB-LI18NUX2000 Level1 Testset
Release Notes
This document provides Release notes for the Testset for the
LI18NUX 2000 Level 1 aspects of the Linux Standard Base.
1. Release Overview
LTS_LI18NUX2K.L1-1.3.2.0 is a full beta release of this test suite.
LTS_LI18NUX2K.L1 is built using the VSXgen (the generic VSX test framework),
and contains tests for the LI18NUX 2000 Level 1 features that have
been merged into the Linux Standard Base 1.3.
This test suite has not yet been adopted by the Linux Standard Base team
and no claims should be made of LSB conformance to this version of the
test suite. The test assertions being tested are in the html files under
/MAN/tset/LI18NUX2K.L1.
This testset was originally developed by the LI18NUX (now OpenI18N)
test and certification team.
This testset is designed to be able to run merged with other LSB testsets.
1.1 Changes since the last release
The following changes have been made to the original testset as part of
the integration with the LSB testsets:
- Remove extraneous files that are in the tet_vsxgen
bundle so as not to overwrite them
- Update the SRC/subsets files for merging
- Move header tests into separate subdirectory so can
be excluded later
- Remove font server setup and font server test
- Include assertions into MAN/tset directory
- Update tests and assertions for gettext, xgettext, msgmerge
and msgfmt to no longer checking utility version
2. Release Contents
The release consists of the following files.

Source files:
ftp://ftp.freestandards.org/pub/lsb/test_suites/beta/source/runtime
The source code to the suite in gzip'd tar format
lts_li8nux2k.l1-1.3.2.0.tgz
TET/VSXgen framework
tet_vsxgen2.6.tgz
Installer
install.sh
3. Obtaining TET and VSXgen
LTS_LI18NUX2K.L1 runs under TET3 and VSXgen (the generic test framework built
upon The Open Group's Test Environment Toolkit) . A suitable version of
the merged TET3/VSXgen release can be obtained from the same
location as the source files. Note that you need at least
tet_vsxgen version 2.6.
TET3 must be configured to build as the Lite version . Do not use
the Distributed version. If you use the provided "install.sh" installation
wrapper this will be configured automatically. For more information on TET,
and TETware Professional , see http://tetworks.opengroup.org .
4. Support
Support related questions and problem reports should be directed by
email to lsb-test(at)linuxbase.org.
5. Size
The size of LTS_LI18NUX2K.L1 when the suite is built is approximately
15MB. The size of the compressed distribution is roughly 2 MB. When
running the complete test suite, journal files will be produced that are
typically less than 1MB in length, so its recommended that at least 20MB
of disk space be allowed for a test campaign.
6. Time
The test suite takes approximately 30 minutes to run depending on the
speed of the platform under test
